千の道

 A Thousand Ways—Our heavenly Father has a thousand ways to provide for us of which we know nothing. Those who accept the one principle of making the service of God supreme, will find perplexities vanish, and a plain path before their feet.—The Ministry of Healing, 481 (1905).

There are many whose hearts are aching under a load of care because they seek to reach the world's standard. They have chosen its service, accepted its perplexities, adopted its customs. Thus their character is marred, and their life made a weariness. In order to gratify ambition and worldly desires, they wound the conscience, and bring upon themselves an additional burden of remorse. The continual worry is wearing out the life forces. Our Lord desires them to lay aside this yoke of bondage. He invites them to accept His yoke; He says, “My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.” He bids them seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and His promise is that all things needful to them for this life shall be added. Worry is blind, and cannot discern the future; but Jesus sees the end from the beginning. In every difficulty He has His way prepared to bring relief. この世の標準に達しようとして、心配の重荷に心を痛めている人が多い。彼らは世の奉仕を選び、世のわずらいを受け入れ、世の習慣をとり入れた。こうして彼らの品性はそこなわれ、人生は疲れはてたものとなる。野心と世俗的な欲望を満足させるために、彼らは良心を傷つけ、悔恨というよけいな重荷まで背負いこむ。たえまない心配のために、生活の力はすりへって行く。主は彼らがこの束縛のくびきを放棄するように望まれる。イエスはわたしのくびきを負いなさいと彼らを招いておられる。「わたしのくびきは負いやすく、わたしの荷は軽いからである」と主は言われる（マタイ11：30）。イエスは彼らに、まず神の国と神の義とを求めなさいと命じられる。そうしたらこの世の生活に必要なものはすべて加えられると、主は約束しておられる。心配は盲目であり、将来をみわけることができない。だがイエスは、始めから終りまで見通される。困難のたびに、イエスはそれをとり除くためにご自分の道を備えられる。天の父なる神は、われわれのために無数の道を備えて下さるが、われわれはそのことを何も知らないのである。神に奉仕しそのみ栄えをあらわすことを最高のものとするというただ一つの原則を受け入れる者は、困った隠題がなくなり、足元にはっきりした道が開かれることに気がつくのである。 各時代の希望　第34章　「わたしのもとにきなさい」

私たちの天の父には、私たちが何も知らないにもかかわらず、私たちを養う千の方法がある。神への奉仕を至上のものとするという一つの原則を受け入れる者は、当惑が消え去り、足元に平坦な道が開けることに気づくだろう。

You need guidance from above. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and He will never betray your trust. If you will ask help of God you need not ask in vain. In order to encourage us to have confidence and trust He comes near us by His holy Word and Spirit, and seeks in a thousand ways to win our confidence. But in nothing does He take more delight than in receiving the weak who come to Him for strength. If we will find heart and voice to pray, He will be sure to find an ear to hear and an arm to save.

あなたには上からの導きが必要だ。心を尽くして主を信じなさい、そうすれば主は決してあなたの信頼を裏切らない。もし神に助けを求めるなら、無駄なことを求める必要はない。私たちが確信と信頼を持つように励ますために、主は聖なる御言葉と御霊によって私たちに近づき、私たちの信頼を勝ち取ろうと千差万別の方法を用いようとされる。しかし、力を求めて神のもとに来る弱い者を受け入れることほど、神が喜ばれることはない。私たちが祈る心と声を見出すなら、主は必ず、聞く耳と救う腕を見出される。
